Plants by Tinybop App Reviews

Great for teaching

Plants is great! Much is made of its free-exploration setup, and Ive introduced a lot of my young cousins to it. They figure it out pretty much instantly. Im an ecologist, and I also regularly use the app during educational presentations. Im a big fan of this app, and Im looking forward to future biome additions (especially the mangroves)!

Crashes when opening

Their human body app is phenomenal and I wish I could review this app but I cant even get it to open without crashing.

Slow Response Time

Great app for interacting and exploring; only downside is the lag when performing some of the more specific activities.

Bland

I regret buying five of their apps all at one time without trying one out first. First off theyre so poorly laid out that you need a "manual" (best part about kids apps is they can explore and figure them out with little to no instruction. Not with these. These come with an instruction manual.) but even after reading the manual they make no sense. They are of little to no interest to children and even I cant find enough interaction in them to be any less than bored. Im hoping to see updates in the future that make these more enjoyable.

An open adventure

This app requires either informed guidance or a very investigative child. Parents are advised to read the handbook and guide with knowledge.

Nice App

Play this one a lot!

Gorgeous and immersive!

My kid really got into this app. I did too - the seasons, animals, and interactive features really reward curious play. I love that concept! Im really looking forward to the other biomes that the company plans to release!

Tinybop does it again!

Great follow-up to The Human Body! Refreshing artistic and interactive approach to plant and animal life makes for a fun learning experience!

Beautiful exploratory play

Another gorgeous app for discovery and wonder from Tinybop. Highly recommended.

Awesome!!!

Love the artwork; it brings me back to the days of reading the large illustrated books with the scenes where there were a million things to look at and discover. Nice job Tinybop team!

Another beautiful experience by tinybop

Paving the future for interactive children illustration. Educational, beautiful, and fun.

Beautiful

One of the most beautiful education apps Ive ever seen.

Beautiful imagery

Like their app before, this one is truly beautiful. At one point, my four year old exclaimed, "wow". Thats always a good sign for me! We havent yet explored all the options but am looking forward to it.

Wow!!!

Another awesome learning experience for inquisitive mind.

Beautiful App

I love this app. Its like a great, lushly illustrated natural history book brought to life. I love how its something to play with, but its not a game. It rewards curiosity, attention, and patience, too, so I really feel good letting my kids play with it. Truly fantastic.

Not intuitive user experience. Graphics more for girls than boys. Lacks fun. Thats my take

A thing of beauty

This app takes an initiative almost a meditative approach to exploring the plant life around us. Its sophisticated and magical, and my 5 year old loves it to boot...!

I love visiting these amazing ecosystems

I love this app. It draws you in in a wonderfully intuitive and curiosity inducing way and has the depth to keep you captivated for hours. Our daughter may not keep at it for hours, but she does come back to it again and again and again. A current favorite.

Just no!

This is nothing compared to The Human Body app. Its not as interactive as it can be. Its boring and not fun for kids. Being able to zoom in to the scenery would be nice. The graphics are subpar too. I want my money back!

I want to like this, but...

I mean, the graphics are lovely and my son figured out a couple of cool tricks such as making lightning. Beyond that, the "exploratory" interface is not in any way intuitive. The developers must realize this deep down - why else would they have a 19-page (no joke!) manual available on their website. Oh! And my son somehow recorded us talking while he was playing in the app. There is no obvious way to delete these recordings, save deleting the app. Which Im about to do.
